Got Kindle? Buy My Book!

In GOLDBERG VARIATIONS, feisty celebrity assistant and former stand-up comic Frankie Goldberg may be a force of nature, but when she loses her job and a mudslide destroys her hopes, home and entire collection of impractical footwear, our 36-year-old heroine flees Hollywood for her family's bed and breakfast in Woodstock.

But her sister Jude, a famous 60s feminist, has placed their ailing mother in a nursing home and is turning the equally ailing B&B into a holistic retreat. Frankie detests Jude, but for their mother's sake, she agrees to stay for the summer and help.

Over the season, the two sisters, born of the same parents but into different eras and different families, struggle to see each other's company as more than just an obligation. This task becomes much more pleasant - and more vexing - when Frankie falls for Joey Mazzarella, ex-jock and ex-husband of one of Jude's best friends. As the summer draws to a close, Frankie must decide: take a chance on love, despite her long losing streak; or, poorer but wiser, resume her Hollywood life.

GOLDBERG VARIATIONS is a story about love and family. Can the tie that binds these squabbling Goldberg sisters actually be a noose? Or can they learn to love - and even respect - each other, despite their differences?

Reader Kristine Logan calls GOLDBERG VARIATIONS "very witty, very satisfying, beautifully written" and  writes "...this book is both amusing and poignant, a satisfying read. Good portrait of family, the 60s and more current eras, and the pain of finding your path in life. Beautifully written - read it! "
